My name is Anne Stringer and I make pots. When I was 6 I made my first mug (pictured right.) I took variety of art classes in high school and at 17 I spent the summer in a pottery town called Seagrove, North Carolina. There I met the O'Quinns, who turned a barn into a pottery shop and made their living as production potters. They taught me how to "throw with your legs". I've taken ceramics classes at MICA (where I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design) and most recently Essex Community College of Baltimore County. I love the Raku firing process and have taken some awesome workshops at the Baltimore Potters Guild.
This past Saturday I had a fantastic time at my very first Flea Market/Pottery Sale/Show in Patterson Park. You could say ceramics is one of my favorite things.
